André specialises in context analysis, monitoring & evaluation and impact assessments of development and conflict transformation activities. He is particularly interested in the nexus between defence, diplomacy and development, regularly working in fragile and conflict-affected environments. He provides advisory services to international organisations (NATO, UN, EU), as well as foreign ministries and aid organisations and INGOs. He was previously also employed by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, GIZ and the EU.

Maria Hrimech is CMC’s Managing Director. She has extensive experience in the international development sector. With over ten years of experience, she implemented several development programmes and conducted numerous research and monitoring and evaluation studies focusing on fragile and conflict-affected states. As Managing Director, she develops and implement CMC’s strategy and provides day-to-day leadership to CMC’s staff globally and delivers a range of programmes across various regions. She works as senior research and evaluation expert, providing technical services and advice to key international development actors, including donors, governments, and civil society organisations.

Erico is an Japanese development and media consultant, specializing in research, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), civil society capacity building in fragile environments. She has over 10 years of experience in humanitarian relief and journalism, and since 2011, she has worked in Eastern, Southern and West Africa.

Previously, she was responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring various humanitarian projects including Community Safety, Early Warning and Early Response (EWER), and Psychosocial Support (PSS). She has also conducted various project evaluations, Women Safety Audit (WSA), conflict analysis, and local Media capacity research across Africa. Erico has academic degree in Political Science in UK, and she is fluent in English and her native Japanese, and her basic competencies in German and French.

Simla has worked in international development for the past four years, in a variety of roles across operations, administration and project management.  She was responsible for coordinating finance, compliance, logistics and Human Resources processes across a wide portfolio of Turkey-based projects supporting the Syrian crisis. Simla is originally from Turkey, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Marmara University in International Relations.

Additionally, Simla is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Media and Journalism from Marmara University, specifically focusing on the intersection of law, media, politics and diplomacy. She speaks Turkish and English.

Kristian specialises in digitalization in development and humanitarian programming from data-informed and technology-enabled programming to front-line digital transformation in fragile and conflict-affected environments. He is particularly interested in how our digitalised world presents drivers for peace and conflict; but has also done research on the security-nexus between climate crisis and conflict.Kristian provides advisory services in remote M&E, data literacy and digital transformation, and can develop digital publications, dashboards and visualisations for better programme decision-making and learning. He is fluent in English and Danish, and proficient in Spanish and German. He holds a MSc. in Global Studies.

Pacifique is an expert in conflict sensitivity approach particularly in the development of conflict sensitivity strategies for humanitarian, development and peacebuilding actors. He has a strong experience in context and conflict analysis.  

His areas of expertise include conflict sensitivity, conflict-sensitive journalism, peacebuilding, violence and hate speech and Humanitarian Access.  

He has worked in African Great Lakes region, in The Eastern Africa as well as in West Africa.

Pacifique holds a Master's degree in international relations and another in Peace and Conflict Management. Swahili native speaker, he is fluent in French and English.

Liliane is a highly experienced researcher and project manager in the fields of humanitarian aid and international development. She has extensive experience in managing large-scale monitoring and evaluation projects across the MENA-region, as well as research studies including market assessments, conflict analysis, stakeholder mapping and outcome harvesting.

Liliane hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a PhD in Modern and Contemporary History on the crises of the Middle East. Her professional career managing decentralized cooperation projects, before the Syrian crisis made her switch from development to emergency.

Peter is a business development expert, with a strong background in programs. He has considerable experience in developing business, partnerships and designing programs for both humanitarian and development organizations. His expertise includes designing business development strategies, donor and partner mapping, proposal/bid development, along with program implementation. Peter’s primary focus has been on the MENA region, with a specialization in gender, employment promotion and labour rights along with humanitarian programming and the HDP Nexus.

Peter holds a MA in Middle East Studies, and is fluent in Danish, English and intermediate in German.

Nathan is a context analysis expert, specialised in quantitative and qualitative research for fragile environments, with experience in C/PVE, resilience and peace programming for conflict affected communities in Nigeria’s North-East as well as Performance Monitoring for Development initiatives in other parts of Nigeria and Africa.He designs monitoring systems for health and humanitarian interventions, undertakes political economic analyses, conflict analyses, capacity assessments and impact evaluations, focusing on strategies for knowledge and adaptive management. He holds a Masters Degree in Development studies, is fluent in English and versed in Nigerian languages.

Sicki is an expert in conflict analysis and transformation with substantial work experience in the Sahel region and Francophone Africa. He is regularly supporting humanitarian and development interventions through conflict analysis and do-no-harm advise. He also organises workshops and capacity building activities for local NGOs and communities affected by conflicts and disasters, especially in his native Mali, and in Niger and Burkina Faso. Currently, Sicki is providing CMC’s full-time conflict sensitivity advice to USAID’s humanitarian work in Mali.

Bobby has 40 years’ experience in development and humanitarian action, much in senior posts, with NGOs and universities. Bobby works on strategic planning, governance, evaluation, management and capacity development, with participatory, people-centred and community-led approaches; through research, facilitation, training, workshops, mentoring and evaluation. Thematic areas include the international humanitarian system, risk-informed programming, resilience and shelter. Clients include UN, Red Cross, NGOs and Donors.  

A Chartered Engineer, he has a Masters in Public Health Engineering.

Henry Wathen is a specialist in conflict management with more than 20 years of experience working with the EU, Swedish government actors, think-tanks and civil society. While specialising in the Caucasus, Henry also worked in the Balkans, Iraq, as well as in Stockholm and Brussels. Henry has considerable thematic expertise in advice, mediation, civil-military relations and law enforcement cooperation.

Henry is fluent in Swedish and English, speaks Russian and has knowledge of Arabic, Armenian, Azeri and Georgian. Presently, he is on leave from Sweden´s Folke Bernadotte Academy and studying theology with the University of Uppsala.

Jim has conducted over 40 evaluations and impact/outcome assessments for international agencies (the EU, Sida, a number of UN agencies, ADC), governments and NGOs (CARE, Kvinna till Kvinna). While specialising in the Western Balkans, Jim has also worked in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Vietnam, Laos, Georgia and other contexts. He has experience working on regional and global evaluations, for example for the Civil Society Education Fund, part of the Global Campaign for Education. He was commissioned several times for evaluations of country development programmes, including Swedish development cooperation in Albania and Kosovo. He has an MBA degree in Organisational Change.
